Pokemon GO Changes Egg Rarity for Certain Pokemon

Pokemon GO Changes Egg Rarity for Certain Pokemon

Niantic is constantly making changes to its popular augmented reality game Pokemon GO, though it doesn’t always share these changes with players. Over the past month, it seems as though Niantic has tweaked the rarity of certain Pokemon that hatch from eggs in Pokemon GO, and has also added a few new Pokemon to the egg hatching pool.

According to data collected by The Silph Road, Niantic has made some slight adjustments to the egg hatching pool in Pokemon GO. Most notably, players will now be able to find third generation ghost-type Pokemon in eggs, with Duskull and Shuppet added to 5km eggs. Sableye, who was slightly harder to find during the game’s recent Halloween event, can only be hatched from 10km eggs at this time.

Beyond the addition of third generation ghost-type Pokemon to Pokemon GO, the egg hatching pool has remained mostly unchanged. The exception is Shuckle, which seems to be less rare than it was a month ago. The Silph Road organizes Pokemon into rarity tiers, and Shuckle has moved from the Hyper-Rare tier to the Super-Rare tier, meaning fans should have an easier time hatching it from eggs.

Pokemon GO shiny Sableye confirmed

These slight changes to the Pokemon GO egg hatching pool shouldn’t shake things up too much, though some fans may object to the distances required to hatch the third generation ghost-type Pokemon from eggs. While they are significantly harder to find nowadays, there was no shortage of these Pokemon during the recent Halloween event, so some fans may be annoyed if they put in the effort to hatch 5 and 10km eggs only to get a Duskull, Shuppet, or Sableye.

However, it’s possible that these ghost-type Pokemon will be shuffled to other eggs sooner rather than later. Niantic has indicated that it plans on adding more third generation Pokemon to Pokemon GO throughout the month of December, so it’s likely that their introduction will require additional changes to the egg hatching pool.

Of course, that’s if Niantic still plans on adding more third generation Pokemon to Pokemon GO this month. The company still has yet to provide an exact release date, which has led some fans to worry that more third generation Pokemon won’t come to the game until 2018. Time will tell, but if third generation Pokemon are coming to Pokemon GO in December, then fans shouldn’t have to wait too much longer to find out more information.

Pokemon GO is available now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
